The Emirate’s civil family court provides a prenup service, which is available to both residents and tourists, but not to Emiratis. A prenuptial agreement can be completed on the same day as the civil marriage.

Custody arrangements are aimed at prioritising the well-being of the children.
In accordance with the new Federal Law, parents are given joint custody of their children until they reach the age of 18, at which time the children have the right to make their own decisions.
Either parent can request that a child is removed from an environment they feel is unsuitable for them.
Child Custody Disputes
In the event of a dispute between the parents they may approach the court to intervene re: child custody arrangements.
